My desire is to be a megaphone of hope for mothers
while ensuring they feel heard, seen, and known.
Birth support that sees you. We’re worth it.
I’ve been known to do things backward.
Baby before marriage…
Public school teacher to homeschool mama…
Birth and Bereavement Doula post pregnancy loss…
Childbirth education teacher/provider after deciding to not go back to teaching…
Never in my wildest dreams did I think that life would have led me to birthwork through pregnancy loss; that I would be homeschooling my children; or that I’d leave teaching after 11 years in to end up teaching in a completely different arena. God can do immeasurably more. I hope you let Him.
Using setbacks as my slingshot, I’ve been purposed to radically reclaim Peace from the trenches of postpartum anxiety, depression, pregnancy loss, and the rat race of the 9-5 life while loving others well. Nothing is wasted in my opinion; it can all be used for good. The world says we can have this or that; that it's all or nothing and I'm here to say that our experiences are a myriad of colors and that my friend, can be your rainbow. Experience is the chief architect.
A teacher at heart, I‘m a natural advocate. I’m a mother to five arrows, three here on earth and two wait for me in heaven. Through my own loss experience, God wrote it on my heart to support women through pregnancy and infant loss, essentially breaking my heart for what breaks His. My heart for supporting families grew out of that loss and in October 2021, I began serving moms as a bereavement doula. In 2022, my journey expanded into serving moms as a birth doula as well. Walking through both grief and joy in my own motherhood shaped the way I now come alongside others—with tenderness, love, and steady encouragement as a:
certified Birth and Bereavement Doula
certified HypnoBirthing International® Childbirth Educator
certified Body Ready Method® Active Pro (currently pursuing BRM Teacher Certification),
placenta encapsulation specialist
birth assistant.
Through each of these roles, my passion is to prepare, support, and empower families—whether they’re welcoming new life, navigating loss, or finding space for both.
When I’m not serving families, you’ll find me outside with my husband and children, homeschooling, enjoying photography, reading, with our church, and/or chasing after new things to learn. My life is rooted in both the wisdom that comes from sorrow and the joy that comes from love—two threads I gently try to hold for the families I support.
I'm a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. With community at my core, I want to make sure each mother knows that she does not have to become a slave to postpartum duress or the fear of losing a life that was knit together within her womb; that boundaries are healthy, and that freedom in every sense of the word (time, wealth, health, and emotional) is ours for the collecting.
I’ve got extra in the sarcasm, fun, and giving spirit arenas.
Let’s do life and slay giants together. Let’s radically transform motherhood together. Let’s build bigger tables together and lastly, let’s sit belly up to that table together. We’re worth it. It’s a privilege to know and serve you.
FAQs
-
I feel so lucky and blessed to be able to support mothers and their families in the home, birth center, and hospital birth settings, no matter their unique circumstances or preferences. Your birth goals are my birth goals.
-
No! Mothers can do little to control birth and birth simply won’t be contained. I don’t believe mothers should be charged extra for a longer birth experience.
-
We don’t! Doulas provide non-medical support and work alongside your health care providers. We’re a bridge, not a wall.
-
As early as you feed ready! Many families hire a doula in the second trimester, some hire earlier/later. I prefer to work with mothers from the very beginning!
-
I may be biased…but this evidence isn’t.
-
Absolutely! As your doula, I support both mom and dad, helping them work together more effectively and with confidence.
-
A bereavement doula offers emotional, physical, and informational support to families as they move with pregnancy and/or infant loss.
-
As your bereavement doula, we will have 24/7 text support, weekly calls, and support through the first 40 days post loss through daily affirmations, new coping strategies being introduced, as well as loving compassion being felt.
-
Many believe that placenta encapsulation can aid in balancing hormones, faster recovery and healing postpartum, and support milk production.
-
I am to encapsulate your placenta and deliver it to you within 72 hours of receiving it.
-
Some mothers have experienced heightened anxiety and a decrease in milk supply. It is a very intuitive medicine - please take responsibility for being aware of your mind and body.
